On behalf of Sabinet’s Chairperson’s Fund, a new project was initiated from January 2009, called “Sabimaths Kidz Project”. This project is co-ordinated between Tshwane Library and our very own Connie Magoba.

Two mathematics teachers, Ms J K Mahlangu and Mr M M J Mashego are employed to provide tuition to 60 pupils in grades 6 and 7 from four neighbouring schools.

The tuition takes place at Kokotla Junior Secondary School in Soshanguve on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 15h00-16h00 and on Saturdays from 08h30-11h30.

Sabinet also donated a Canon photocopier which is being used by the two teachers and is housed at the Tshwane library in Soshanguve.

The launch of this new and exciting project took place on Friday, 3 April at Kakotla Junior Primary School. Attendees included representatives from Tshwane Libraries, Sabinet, parents as well as the teachers and pupils.

Top achievers were awarded with certificates and prizes for their outstanding achievement in the first term.

This project is proving to be a huge success as the children are enthusiastic and keen to learn.
