Being a Librarian is one of the best careers for 2009, according to the US News and World Report top 30 careers for 2009. Among the 30 best careers chosen are Ghostwriter, Government manager, Hairstylist / cosmetologist, Higher education administrator and Locksmith. Scoring was done on the following five criteria:
- Job outlook
- Average job satisfaction
- Difficulty of the required training
- Prestige
- Pay
