Sabinet databases currently accessible via the protocol include Fiction, SACat, SA ePublications and ISAP. For the complete list please refer to our support page.
New to Z39.50?
Z39.50 is a client-server protocol for searching and retrieving information from remote databases. The standard is officially expressed as ANSI/NISO standard Z39.50, and ISO standard 23950, and the Library of Congress is the maintenance agency thereof. Z39.50 allows for libraries to be able to search and retrieve results via their integrated library management system, meta-search application or Z39.50 clients. As a Sabinet subscriber, you would be able to search and retrieve records from Sabinet resources without having to re-enter the search queries in the various individual databases.
